65 great murder mysteries – Edited by Mary Danby

Reading short stories is always a favorite pass time. I bought this one at a second-hand book store in almost mint condition and have gloried in the great collection of murder mysteries compiled in one book. Edgar Allan Poe, W. Somerset Maugham, Guy de Maupassant, Bram Stoker and many other authors that I had not even heard about. Out of the 65 stories I had previously read about 5 so it was an absolute win-win.

The stories are not very complicated but they do have a certain flair of writing that I think was very particular to people of a certain generation. They are laid back stories with no cell phones and forensic pathology and are more a commentary on human nature.

Nothing much can be added about the stories themselves without giving out plots but that this is a great one to have in your collection of paper books instead of on kindle.
